Davenport police will close East 11th and Christie streets to vehicle traffic starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
On Wednesday, all the streets within the Village of East Davenport business district will be closed. All businesses will still be open.

Police warn parking, traffic restricted for Obama visit

Police are warning that close-in parking will be “very limited” for President Barack Obama’s campaign appearance Wednesday in the Village of East Davenport.
Several streets in the area will be closed before noon for security reasons.
“Walking for some distance may be necessary,” Davenport police warned in a release Monday.

Obama is expected to speak sometime after 5 p.m. at 11th and Christie streets.
Security also will detour traffic away from the site, so drivers who don’t have reason to be in the immediate area should take alternate routes, according to the release. Congestion and delays are likely, with normal traffic flow expected to resume some time after 6 p.m.
