A police pursuit of a suspected drunken driver started in Camanche, Iowa, and ended in Savanna, Ill., with the collision of a Carroll County Sheriff’s squad car and the vehicle getting chased.
No one was injured.
The pursued driver, Linda Kadow, 37, of Mount Carroll, Ill., was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of a controlled substance, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
Two passengers, Jeffrey Wright, 22, and Kenny G. Kradle, 31, both of Clinton, Iowa, were taken into custody.
The incident began about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, when police began pursuing a vehicle in Camanche, following it into Fulton, Ill., and continuing north on Illinois 84 into Carroll County. That’s where sheriff’s deputies made several attempts to stop the vehicle with stop sticks, devices used to deflate tires, which were unsuccessful.

However, the chase ended when a squad driven by Deputy James Hiher collided with the pursued vehicle. Illinois State Police was called in to investigate the accident.
Sheriff’s officials said the pursuit remains under investigation, with more charges pending.
