Five home invasions have occurred during daylight hours recently in rural Scott County, and law enforcement officials are seeking residents’ help.
Forced entry was made to the residences after it was determined that no one was home, according to Scott County Sheriff’s Lt. Bryce Schmidt. Jewelry and cash have been stolen.
Schmidt said the residences being targeted are those that sit alone in rural areas, as opposed to residences in housing additions.
Residents are asked to report any suspicious people or vehicles in their area, including vehicle plate information and description by calling 911 or contacting the Scott Emergency Communication Center at 563-388-3904.
